Select your file and the tool shapes it to the form rules, then checks it and tells you whether it is ready to upload.

    UPSC size rules

    FileFile sizePixelsFormat
    photo20–200 KBAny size accepted (we make 350 × 350 px)JPG
    signature20–100 KBAny size accepted (we make 350 × 350 px)JPG

UPSC wants the signature as three signatures, one below the other, with a gap between them, on plain white paper in black ink, all in one image. The signature image should be 350 to 500 pixels. The face should cover at least 75% of the photo. Name the files "photo" and "signature". Also complete the live photo capture. A live capture is separate from the upload, so check your notification.

How to resize your UPSC photo, signature

    1. UPSC is already selected above, so the tool applies its rules for you.
    2. Select your photo from the gallery. Drag or zoom it so your face sits in the middle of the frame.
    3. Sign on plain white paper with a dark pen and select a picture of it.
    4. When every row shows a tick, download the files and upload them on the official form.

    Common reasons uploads get rejected

    • The file size is outside the KB range.
    • The pixel size does not match.
    • The format is not JPG. Some phones save HEIC or PNG.
    • The background is dark or coloured, or there is a shadow on the face.
    • The signature is too faint or cut at the edges.

    Common questions

What is the UPSC photo size?

UPSC asks for a photo of 20–200 KB and a signature of 20–100 KB, as JPG files.

How do I reduce my photo to 200 KB?

Choose UPSC in the tool and add your photo. It finds the right quality automatically so the file lands inside 20–200 KB.

Why was my UPSC photo rejected?

Usually the file is outside the allowed KB range, the pixels do not match, the format is not JPG, or the background is dark. The tool checks all of these before you upload.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. Everything happens inside the browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to us.

Is this site connected with UPSC?

No. This is an independent free tool. Always read the current notification at upsconline.nic.in before you submit your form.
